The Communications Bureau serves as the information center of the Penitas Police Department. Our communication center is manned around the clock, 365 days a year.
Dispatchers handle all incoming calls both emergency and non-emergency in nature. Upon receiving a call, the dispatcher must decide the appropriate agency or service that will be dispatched. The response could be from a police officer, the fire department, an ambulance or tow truck.
By utilizing the technology available to them, dispatchers are able to obtain and gather information on hundreds of different types of queries, as well as entering all the necessary information that may help to identify missing or wanted persons.
